Had two excellent dinners at Pitchfork on a recent visit to Nelson. Staff is friendly and attentive, food is delicious, cocktails and wine list are impressive. The Old Growth cocktail is fantastic! Pairs well with the calamari. Also loved the pan seared Brussels sprouts. Seared char was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin. Burger was tasty and clearly a fan favorite; everyone seemed to order it. Second night we enjoyed the mussels and clams in a really good broth and a well-executed tuna poke bowl. This is a great restaurant and worth going early if that’s the only reservation you can get.

The breakfast poutine was phenomenal and the inside of Pitchfork is so warm and welcoming with a unique woody feel! Outside is charming and the view from the patio seems amazing!

Absolutely amazing food. We ordered the pickle small appetizer, which was a fun experience. There was beet, asparagus, carrots, garlic scapes, squash and Kimchi. The Kimchi was too salty for my liking but my husband loved it. I have a sensitive palate for salt. We also ordered the Calamari. It was lightly breaded and had a dusting of spice. It was on a bed of of aeoli and had some herbs on top. The best Calamari I've had. My entree was the trout with crispy skin ontop of broccolini with pesto sauce and beignet. The Pitchfork is highly recommended.

Admittedly, I stared at the stairs for this place for a solid minute, trying to determine if this was the place I was looking for, and if that was indeed the entrance. I'm very happy I chose this place for dinner. So much so, I did two nights in a row. While the pork belly (pictured) wasn't necessarily my taste, I thought I'd try something out of my typical palette, and am glad I did. The food is all wonderful, but the "Islander burger" is to absolutely die for. I am not certain, in any capacity, that I've ever had a better burger. It's a small restaurant, so there's a cozy feel, real candles, all wood and brick inside. Beautiful spot, really. 12/10 recommend. The reason my price is so high is because I had dessert and three beer each visit. Don't worry, I walked home.

Quality well-prepared food across all the dishes we had. Plus, a lovely outdoor seating area and excellent service too. We love a good quality farm to table restaurant and recommend this spot!

Just wow. This was one of the most amazing fine dining experiences we've ever had - worth every penny! We had a number of fish/seafood dishes (calamari, mussels, steelhead and sablefish) and they were all cooked to absolute perfection and came out so hot and fresh. The service also really went above and beyond, including an excellent wine recommendation. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Excellent experience. It's situated on a hill and feels like a cozy little den when you go inside. I sat at the bar as I was by myself and my other option was on the patio. Ordered the elk striploin steak salad. It came quickly and was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly. Salad was flavorful and balanced. Above all, the bartender Zoe made my visit here very special. She was attentive, friendly, gave great cocktail recommendations, and was genuinely good company. Would recommend going, and would definitely go back if in Nelson again!
